Within the framework of the San Sebastian Festival, it presents the promotional video of the reference locations on the island, as well as the premiere of the teaser of 'Adalid', the new work by the filmmaker Mercedes Afonso.<\/h4>

The Cabildo de La Palma, through the public company Sodepal, has developed the most elaborate staging since the creation of its Film Commission project to position the island as a natural set for audiovisual projections, also supporting the creative talent of the filmmakers of La Palma, personified in the figure of Mercedes Afonso with her feature film project in development 'Adalid'.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/div>

More than 150 professionals from the audiovisual sector, from production company representatives to distributors, specifiers, actors and specialised media, took part in the presentation of the promotional video that aims to consolidate La Palma as a filming destination, an event that took place within the framework of the San Sebastian Film Festival.\u00a0<\/p>

The video shows reference locations capable of hosting any type of national or international filming, from advertising to series, television or film, emphasising the tax advantages of filming in La Palma.\u00a0<\/p>

This audiovisual work has been produced by the production company Enr\u00f3llate Films and is entirely made by professionals and companies from La Palma.\u00a0<\/p>

The presentation event, called 'Narrative roars from the island of La Palma', was attended by representatives of the Canary Islands Government, the Canary Islands Institute for Cultural Development, Proexca and the Canary Islands Audiovisual Cluster, and also provided an exclusive preview of the teaser of 'Adalid', the new project by the director and scriptwriter Mercedes Afonso, which exemplifies the talent of La Palma in audiovisual creation.\u00a0<\/p>

The feature film \"is born from what has been lived, from what has been breathed and shared, from what has been cried. From the wounds, resilience and strength of the inhabitants of the Aridane Valley\" in the face of the last volcano, according to the filmmaker herself.\u00a0<\/p>

The presence of volunteers from Galdakao, in eternal memory for their work to help the neighbours affected by the Tajogaite volcano, meant that the event had an emotional reflection as it ended up being transferred to that September 2021.\u00a0<\/p>

The Councillor for Economic Promotion of the Cabildo of La Palma, Miriam Perestelo, told those present that \"La Palma is an island of contrasts. Wild beaches of black sand, volcanic territory, Jurassic landscapes, cloud waterfalls, a national park, the clearest sky in the northern hemisphere... A mere 706 square kilometres in which coast and forest intermingle. A territory to be discovered, with majestic corners that I invite you to discover\".\u00a0<\/p>

The councillor emphasised that \"La Palma has talented and capable professionals. The filmmaker Mercedes Afonso is an example of an industry that has been joined by professionals and companies with resources not only to generate their own productions, but also to provide services to the production companies that come to our island\".\u00a0<\/p>

In this sense, island president Sergio Rodr\u00edguez emphasises that \"we have taken on the audiovisual sector as an economic tool of great value, allocating economic and technical resources to facilitate the needs of production companies that want to film in our territory\", adding that \"when filming in La Palma they will find neighbours who are an example of resilience. Our people have been able to fight against adversity, to be reborn when they had lost everything and to look to the future with enthusiasm. That is the people they will meet when they arrive on our island\".\u00a0<\/p>

For her part, the island's Director of Tourism, Beatriz P\u00e1ez, valued \"the economic impact of the audiovisual sector, the activity generated by each filming, and its capacity to promote the island's most important tourist resources\", but stressed \"its intangible value, that which we cannot touch. Yes, I am talking about feelings, emotions, about what sometimes even makes us change our way of thinking or living. Emotions and sensations, at the end of the day, that have in La Palma the best possible place to come true\".\u00a0<\/p>

Finally, Mercedes Afonso stressed that \"a small team of people have begun an incredible journey, after weeks of preparation and with only two days of filming, we have entered the universe of 'Adalid', a project that touches us on all sides and we feel it in this advance filming\".\u00a0<\/p>

The filmmaker said she was \"enormously grateful to the whole team for their involvement, their generosity, their humanity, the institutions that supported us and the La Palma firefighters for their invaluable collaboration and participation in the filming\". \"I am still moved by the physical and emotional hangover of what I experienced,\" she said.\u00a0<\/p>

The flavours of La Palma were also the protagonists of a gastronomic proposal with a La Palma stamp, by Josu\u00e9 Mart\u00edn and Amanda Brito, young entrepreneurs in charge of the Altillo Gastrobar, an establishment that is a member of the Saborea La Palma project.\u00a0<\/p>
