The start and finish took place in Tijarafe, and the participants faced one of the toughest days of this stage format on the mythical La Tea route, which also took in the trails and tracks of Puntagorda and Villa de Garaf\u00eda.<\/span><\/p><\/div><div class=\"field field--name-body field--type-text-with-summary field--label-hidden field--item\"><p>In the long course, the cyclists covered approximately 64 km and 2,200 metres of positive ascent, on a route through Canary Island pine forests and technical areas. The short course was 34 km long and 1,200 metres of positive ascent, while maintaining an equally high level of difficulty.<\/p><p>In the long stage in the men's category, the winner was the Italian Anton Sintsov (2:45:39), closely followed by Pedro Rodr\u00edguez (2:46:45), who managed to maintain his lead in the stage race. The third step of the podium was taken by the Galician Pablo Rodr\u00edguez (2:51:48).\u00a0<\/p><p>In the women's race, the winner was, as in yesterday's stage, Germany's Bettina Janas (3:27:52), who consolidated her lead in the stage race. In second place was Tessa Kortekaas (3:41:28), both repeating the same positions of the previous day. The podium was closed by Patricia Garc\u00eda (4:08:41).\u00a0<\/p><p>In the short stage, the men's victory went to Carlos Afonso (1:29:43), followed by the also local Luis Alberto Rodr\u00edguez (1:31:54) in second place and Ismael Herrera (1:32:06) in third place, which was enough to keep him as the leader of the stage race at this distance.<\/p><p>In the women's category, Sophie Giovane (1:41:32) once again dominated this stage, consolidating her lead in the race. In second place came Andrea Garay (2:27:33), followed by Ana Bel\u00e9n P\u00e9rez (2:31:31), who closed the podium in this category.<\/p><p>After today, everything is left to the third and final stage to be held tomorrow, Sunday, in the municipality of Fuencaliente de La Palma, where everything will be decided.
