The Vertical Climb inaugurates the competition in the Transvulcania adidas Terrex 2024

The explosive race that starts from the Puerto de Tazacorte and finishes at the Torre de El Time marks the start of the race in La Palma.

The Transvulcania adidas Terrex 2024 action kicks off, as has been the tradition, with the Vertical Climb, always a spectacular event, which will take place tomorrow (9 May) from 17:00 hours.

Starting at the Puerto de Tazacorte and finishing at the Torre de El Time, the Transvulcania adidas Terrex Vertical Climb will kick off the competition, as pure as it is tough, in La Palma, with its usual route of 7.26 kilometres long and 1,203 metres of positive height gain.

This year's list of participants includes a number of specialists in this explosive sport, including previous winners and some local runners who are aiming for the top step of the podium.

The zigzagging trail that starts from sea level in Puerto de Tazacorte and reaches the Torre de El Time, usually with a sharp time change from start to finish, will bring together many fans who will see in action Daniel Osanz, winner in 2019 or Pascal Egli, who took the victory in 2018, but also international athletes such as Omi Ryonosuke, Tomas Macecek or Damien Humbert.

Spaniards Abel Carretero, Arezki Habibi, Fabián Venero, Mario Olmedo and the local Yonet González will try to be part of a podium that is quite expensive in this edition.

Among the girls there are also previous winners such as Jessica Pardin or the local Moana Lilly Kehres, who will try to live again the sensation of being on the top of the podium of the inaugural Transvulcania adidas Terrex race, aware of the enormous competition they will have in athletes with an excellent track record such as Holly Page, Camilla Magliano, Iris Pessey, Onditz Iturbe or Silvia Lara.
