The inauguration will take place on Thursday 30 May at the Escuela Insular de Artesanía.
On the occasion of the Corpus Christi festivity, and with the collaboration of the Cabildo de La Palma, the public company Sodepal is organising the exhibition 'Four legacies for the memory' on Thursday 30th May, starting at 17:30 hours.
The CEO of Sodepal, Miriam Perestelo, highlights this action, which will also culminate on 20 June with a tribute to four craftswomen. In this sense, the councillor points out that "the exhibition accurately details the work carried out throughout their lives by the professionals", says Perestelo.
For his part, Pablo Díaz Cobiella, the island's head of Crafts, stresses the importance of "supporting the efforts" made by craftsmen and women to produce their work, with the aim of ensuring that this sector lasts over time.
Anyone wishing to visit the exhibition will be able to do so, which will be available throughout the Corpus Christi festivities, from the 30th of May until the 2nd of June, from 10:00 to 20:00 hours. It will then be open to the public during the month of June, from Monday to Friday, from 10:00 to 13:00.
Four legacies to remember" details the biography of Felisa Rodríguez, Adela Sánchez, Rosario Álvarez and Pilar Pérez, highlighting the way in which they made their work, as well as presenting a sample of the utensils with which they made their work. During this event, each of the families of the honorees will be presented with a handmade souvenir.
In addition, through the La Palma Artesanía project, activities will be carried out to culturally enrich a festival declared of National Tourist Interest, such as Corpus Christi in Villa de Mazo.
