The race will start at 20:00 hours and will finish at the El Paso football ground.

The project La Palma Ecuestre of the public company Sodepal of the Cabildo de La Palma celebrates the grand finale of its VIII edition this Saturday, July 13th, in the district of Tajuya, in El Paso. The race will start at 20:00 hours and will finish in the area of the football field in El Paso.

The president Sergio Rodríguez highlighted one of the main objectives of holding this type of event, which is animal welfare. He also pointed out that the doping tests carried out on the horses participating in the semi-final were negative, thus fulfilling the aim of this project. "We are committed to the welfare of the horses and the integrity of equestrian sport on the island," he said.

The CEO of Sodepal, Miriam Perestelo, has stressed the importance of continuing to promote this project for the island to give prominence to equestrian sport and, in turn, promote tourism and the local economy. "This event is an example of our commitment to the diversification of the cultural and sporting offer of La Palma," she added.

We hope that residents and visitors alike will enjoy this unique experience, where they will be able to appreciate the talent and dedication of our riders and their horses. I would also like to thank all the participating stables for their support and collaboration in this project".

For his part, the Councillor for Sports, Yurguen Hernández, underlined the sporting value of the initiative as an "excellent opportunity to highlight the importance of sport on our island. Riding is a discipline that combines physical and mental skills and a close connection with animals, and we are proud to be able to offer an event of this magnitude on La Palma".

In the speed category, the Battle of Waterloo (El Ciclón) and Catapum from the Los Chicos stable will compete. On the other hand, in the distance category, Australia Cape from the Los Chicos stable, Cavo D'Oro from the Malpeis stable and Aitana Ciel from the Macaco Team stable will compete.

The La Palma Equestrian project aims to encourage and promote horse riding on the island, offering the community a unique opportunity to enjoy and participate in top-level equestrian competitions. The recovery of the Tabuya course highlights the commitment to the island's equestrian traditions and history, reinforcing the cultural and sporting value of this initiative.
