The Cabildo de La Palma promotes the 'Digitalisation Award' for small and medium-sized companies

The Regional Minister for Economic Promotion, Trade and Digital Transformation, Miriam Perestelo, explains that the aim of this award is to recognise SMEs that have successfully implemented technological solutions in their operations.

The Cabildo de La Palma, through the public company Sodepal and in collaboration with the Acelera Pyme Office, is promoting the Digitalisation Award, an award aimed at recognising and encouraging the efforts of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) on the island in their digital transformation process.

The island's head of Economic Promotion, Trade and Digital Transformation and CEO of Sodepal, Miriam Perestelo, explains that the aim of this recognition is to reward SMEs that have successfully implemented technological solutions to their operations, thus improving their competitiveness, productivity and projection in local and international markets.

These awards also aim to promote the digitalisation of the Island's companies, as well as highlighting existing best practices and promoting equality, a special section of the award will be dedicated to female participation in digitalisation, with the aim of reducing the gender gap in the technological business field.

The initiative is part of the digitalisation strategies of the Acelera Pyme La Palma project, whose main objective is to promote the use of new technologies in the island's business fabric.

Interested companies can register through the Acelera pyme La Palma web portal. https://acelerapyme-lapalma.com/inscripcion-premios-a-la-digitalizacion-y-transformacion-digital-en-las-pymes-de-la-palma-2024/ or at any of the physical offices of the Oficina Acelera Pyme La Palma until the 4th of October.

Competition categories

These awards have three categories, the first of which is aimed at the best business digitisation project, which will recognise the SME that has carried out a complete digitisation and digital transformation in all areas of its business, where it has also significantly improved its efficiency and productivity, being sustainable through digitisation.

Another award will go to the best visibility project in the networks, a section that highlights the website, blog or digital space that has the greatest influence in its field or that stands out for the quality of its posts, both in terms of content and in the design and development of the strategy.

Finally, there will be an award aimed at the participation of women in the digitisation of SMEs in La Palma to highlight the SME that provides improvements or positive results derived from the inclusion of women in the digitisation process, as well as the policies and practices implemented to promote gender equality.

The winning projects in each category will receive 1,000 euros, which they can use to continue digitising their business.
