Councillor Miriam Perestelo points out that this event "seeks to reinforce the promotion of local products".
The Cabildo de La Palma and the public company Sodepal are promoting the island's gastronomy by promoting the project Saborea La Palma at the new edition of GastroCanarias 2025, where Saborea La Palma will have its own stand. This is one of the most important gastronomic events in the archipelago, which will take place at the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Exhibition Centre from 20 to 22 May.
The CEO of Sodepal, Miriam Perestelo, points out that the aim of attending this event "is to strengthen the promotion of local agri-food products and to highlight the work of the island's producers".
Likewise, Perestelo comments that "during the three days of the fair, the stand will offer tastings, culinary exhibitions and meetings with professionals from the sector, thus consolidating La Palma as a reference point on the regional gastronomic scene".
For his part, the Councillor for Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries, Food Sovereignty and Animal Welfare, Alberto Paz, emphasised the Corporation's commitment to promoting local produce, which is a reflection of the commitment of the island's primary sector, which is key to the social and economic development of La Palma.
For this new edition of GastroCanarias, Saborea La Palma has selected five outstanding companies from the island, such as Destilerías Aldea, with its traditional artisan rums; Vinos Mergus, which is committed to heroic viticulture and wines with identity; VidaViva Ecofood, specialising in high quality sustainable vegetable products; Palmojo, with its traditional mojos made from local recipes and Mi Dulce Pastel, a creative confectionery proposal that combines innovation and tradition.
In addition, the programme of activities includes live showcookings by renowned chefs from the island, who will showcase the versatility and richness of the island's produce. The public will be able to enjoy the culinary proposals of the restaurant El Pulpo, with a cuisine based on fresh produce and seafood recipes, and El Altillo Gastrobar, which will surprise with contemporary creations inspired by traditional Canarian cuisine.
