The collaboration between the two fashion labels puts the spotlight on island fashion and its creators.
Nine designers belonging to the Isla Bonita Moda label will show at Futur Adlib on the 6th of June. These will be Diazar Atelier, BAN, Lepa Punca, Shamelu, Mararte, Sara Luis Joyas, Rayco Plata, Julia Brito and Waleska Morin.
After the historic twinning between Isla Bonita Moda and Futur Adlib in 2024, the institutional programme of support for design and designer fashion from La Palma returns this year to the Ibiza catwalk with a careful selection of proposals that vindicate the island's creativity and its link with craftsmanship.
Under a collaborative and multidisciplinary vision, nine creatives from the Isla Bonita Moda programme - Diazar Atelier, BAN, Lepa Punca, Shamelu, Sara Luis Joyas, Rayco Plata, Julia Brito, Waleska Morin and Mararte - will present their collections on the FUTUR ADLIB 2025 catwalk on Friday 6th June in the incomparable setting of the churchyard of Sant Miquel de Balansat, Waleska Morin and Mararte - will present their collections on the FUTUR ADLIB 2025 catwalk on Friday 6th June - in the incomparable setting of the churchyard of Sant Miquel de Balansat - thus consolidating an exchange that transcends the catwalks to position itself as a meeting place between territories, sensibilities and ways of understanding fashion.
The fashion labels Adlib Ibiza, promoted by the Consell Insular d'Eivissa, and Isla Bonita Moda, promoted by the Consejería del Área de Promoción Económica del Cabildo Insular de la Palma, continue with this collaboration in which they are committed to promoting the talent and fashion creators of the islands.
María Fajarnés, executive councillor of the Department of Economic Promotion, Municipal Cooperation and Human Resources, states that "Adlib Ibiza and Isla Bonita Moda share the concern to put designers from the islands in their rightful place in fashion, a fashion that is based on tradition and craftsmanship, overcoming the difficulties that island life entails, and with the certainty that talent crosses the obstacles of the maritime border". Fajarnés adds that "this exchange is inspiring and represents a unique experience of growth for the talents of both islands".
In the words of Miriam Perestelo, Councillor for Economic Promotion of the Cabildo de La Palma and CEO of Sodepal "FUTUR ADLIB represents an excellent opportunity to project the work of our designers in a first class professional environment. The Ibizan market is a benchmark in creativity, fashion and tourism, and being part of this platform means making progress in the consolidation of the Isla Bonita Moda label as a brand of identity, quality and external projection. From the Cabildo de La Palma through Sodepal and Isla Bonita Moda we sincerely thank the invitation and especially all the work of its organising team, for continuing to trust in the talent of La Palma and providing its designers with a relevant platform for their projection in such a strategic market".
A twinning that puts the spotlight on two of the island locations on the national scene that are committed to the fashion sector and to recovering traditional trades.
DIAZAR ATELIER: SIWA SWIMWEAR COLLECTION. An oasis of design.
The alliance between Diazar Atelier, BAN's handcrafted leather goods and Lepa Punca's signature jewellery has resulted in a deeply evocative capsule collection: SIWA SWIMWEAR COLLECTION. Inspired by the Siwa oasis, the proposal is immersed in a sensory experience to transfer the nature, serenity and strength of the desert to textiles, leather and jewellery. Sand tones, geometric motifs and hand embroidery make up an aesthetic narrative that vindicates design as a sensitive language, fashion as a channel of cultural transmission and craftsmanship as a form of rootedness with the territory and its rhythms.
SHAMELU: SIJAK, a new beginning.
The designer behind Shamelu presents SIJAK: INICIO, a swimwear collection that represents a new chapter in her creative universe. Inspired by traditional Asian fashion and reinterpreted with modern codes, the collection combines geometric and organic shapes in a visual language that conveys intentional chaos and fluidity. The return of the signature print, handcrafted jewellery by Mararte and footwear by Ban complete a collection that celebrates the duality between past and present.
RAYCO PLATA + JULIA BRITO: L'Estasi, sculpture made body.
Designer Rayco Plata, in collaboration with Julia Brito, presents L'Estasi, a capsule collection inspired by the Italian Renaissance. Ethereal forms, fabrics that evoke movement and the angelic sensuality of classical sculpture are translated into pieces that fluidly envelop the body, highlighting the natural beauty of gesture and anatomy. A work that unites art, history and design with profound sensitivity.
SARA LUIS JOYAS: BOMBYX MORI, the art of the invisible.
With the BOMBYX MORI collection, Sara Luis Joyas pays homage to the spinners of El Paso and the silent work of the silkworm. Inspired by metamorphosis and the fragility that transforms into legacy, each piece captures an instant stopped in time. This collection is not worn, it is honoured: it represents the power of the essential, the invisible memory and technique elevated to art.
WALESKA MORIN: a symphony of colour and form inspired by Ensor.
For its part, the firm Waleska Morin immerses itself in an artistic and profound inspiration, where the chromatic palette of the painter James Ensor envelops a collection full of visual symbolism. The asymmetrical garments, the cut-out cuts and the floral explosion in all its forms turn this proposal into a vivid portrait of the artist's universe and his most famous work. Inspired by the art of ballet and period musicals, the designs celebrate movement, colour and expressiveness. Pinks, yellows, whites and other warm tones dance in the sun like a melody that crosses time.
About Adlib Ibiza
Since 1971, the island of Ibiza has been the source of inspiration for a unique way of conceiving fashion, with a philosophy based on respect for the environment and the concept of slow fashion. A seal of craftsmanship that has come a long way since more than 50 years ago, when the first hippies took the island's traditional clothing and fused it with fabrics and styles from all over the world. Today, Ibizan fashion has carved out a niche for itself, inspiring the best designers and bringing together both men's and women's proposals.
