The Cabildo promotes an embroidery course as part of the La Palma Artesanía programme

The training, which will take place in the afternoon, will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 17:00 to 20:00 at the Escuela Insular de Artesanía.

The Cabildo de La Palma will start an embroidery course on 2 September, which will last until 27 November, as part of the La Palma Artesanía training programme developed by Sodepal.

The CEO of Sodepal, Miriam Perestelo, stresses that this initiative "is an opportunity to bring the island's traditional crafts to new generations and at the same time provide a meeting and learning space for those who already have experience or interest in embroidery".

"With actions like this we reinforce our commitment to keep alive the handicraft techniques of La Palma and to continue supporting the citizens with accessible and quality training proposals", adds Perestelo.

The training, which will take place in the afternoon, will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 17:00 to 20:00 hours at the Escuela Insular de Artesanía in Villa de Mazo. The price per day will be five euros, although students and those who are unemployed will be exempt from payment, on presentation of the DARDE. All other participants, including retired people, will have to pay the established fee.

To take part, those interested must register in advance and bring some basic work materials such as a pad, needles, scissors and pins. The thread and fabric will depend on each project, following the instructions of the instructor.

The Cabildo invites all citizens to take advantage of this training and thus contribute to the conservation and dissemination of the island's craft traditions.
