The Cabildo reinforces its commitment to the island's gastronomy with the celebration of the Sabores del Noreste Gastronomy Fair

The Councillor for Economic Promotion of the Cabildo de La Palma, Miriam Perestelo, affirms that this type of initiative "benefits the commercial and primary sectors of the island".

The Cabildo Insular de La Palma, through the public company Sodepal and with the collaboration of the Town Council of San Andrés y Sauces, maintains its commitment to the island's gastronomy with the celebration of the Sabores del Noreste Gastronomic Fair, for which the registration period is now open for interested establishments, to be held on Saturday 22nd November in the Plaza Nuestra Señora de Montserrat, in San Andrés y Sauces.

The councillor for Economic Promotion and CEO of Sodepal, Miriam Perestelo, explains that this type of initiative "benefits both the commercial sector and the island's primary sector. Gastronomy is an economic sector in which we can compete, thanks to the high quality of the local produce and the talent of our professionals", she adds.

For his part, the mayor of San Andrés y Sauces, Francisco Paz, stresses that for the municipality "it is very important to host these events that represent a significant economic injection for the establishments in the area, also allowing the gastronomy and restaurateurs of the municipality to be showcased".

This gastronomic event aims to promote local products and highlight the value of black pig meat, an ingredient of great importance in the culinary identity of the island. Through the creativity and talent of the participating establishments, the fair will become a showcase for the flavour, tradition and innovation that characterise the island's cuisine.

During the event, attendees will be able to taste a wide variety of tapas and gastronomic proposals made with local products, in a festive atmosphere that encourages interaction between restaurateurs, producers and the public.

Those establishments interested in participating can formalise their registration through Sodepal's electronic headquarters until 9 November.

Participation is free of charge and the number of spaces available will be limited, prioritising the participation of catering establishments in the northern area.

With this initiative, the Cabildo Insular de La Palma, through Sodepal and the Saborea La Palma project, reaffirms its commitment to promoting local produce, supporting the gastronomic and commercial sector and boosting the economy of the municipalities in the north of the island.

Sabores del Noreste is presented as an essential event to enjoy the gastronomy of La Palma and strengthen the connection between territory, tradition and economic development.
