The overall champions were the local Pedro Rodríguez and the German Bettinna Janas in the long distance and palmero Luis Alberto Rodríguez and the Gallic Sophie Giovane in the short distance.
The Transvulcania Bike 2025 closed this Sunday its most vibrant edition with the third and last stage, held in the south of the island, in the municipality of Fuencaliente. After two intense days in El Paso and the northwest region of the island, the participants faced the last challenge of this stage race that has once again placed La Palma on the international mountain biking map.
The day began with the Pequebike, a modality that served to encourage the love of cycling among the youngest, as part of the "quarry" of future bikers. As for its competitive modality, the final stage had two modalities: a long distance of 68 km and 1,900 positive metres, and a short distance of 48 km and 1,100 positive metres. Both offered volcanic terrain, technical trails and fast tracks that tested the skills of the participants on this last and decisive day of the event.
In the men's long distance category, the winner was Pedro Rodríguez Mesa (03:00:04), closely followed by the Italian Anton Sintsov (03:00:57). While the Galician Pablo Rodríguez (03:01:02) was in charge of closing the podium of this last stage of the race.
In the women's category, German Bettinna Janas (3:41:26) came out on top again, showing her mastery of the tracks and trails of La Palma. In second place crossed the finish line Tessa Kortekaas (3:56:55) followed by Lourdes Bethencourt (4:24:25).
The advantage gained by Pedro Rodríguez in the three stages (8:13:19) was enough for him to win the race ahead of Anton Sintsov (8:19:55) and Pablo Rodríguez (8:20:01). Similarly, German Bettina Janas (10:15:06) was the clear winner in the three stages in the women's section, being the overall winner, after Tessa Kortekaas (10:57:38) and Lourdes Bethencourt (12:44:35).
In the short race, the male winner was, once again, Carlos Afonso (2:07:27), followed by Alexis García (2:10:25) and Luis Alberto Rodríguez (2:10:31) very close together. In the women's category, the winner was once again Sophie Giovane (2:22:27), followed by Andrea Garay (3:00:01) and Esther Acosta (3:03:56) in second and third position respectively.
In this short event, after the three stages, the most consistent runner was Luis Alberto Rodríguez (05:23:47), followed by local runner Alexis García (05:26:31) and Hugo Guerra (5:34:33). In the women's section, the victories of Sophie Giovane (05:53:10) were enough for her to win the overall victory among the women.
