We trained 16 people on personal image

The President of the island, Sergio Rodríguez, and the Councillor for Economic Promotion and CEO of Sodepal, Miriam Perestelo, presented the diplomas to the students of this training course, developed in an area with professional projection for the island.

The Cabildo de La Palma, through Sodepal, has successfully concluded the training in personal image in which 16 people have participated, who have acquired new skills in a sector with high demand and job opportunities on the island. The course, given by Allo Studio and directed by the professional Yurena Álvarez, was held in the municipality of Barlovento, with the support and collaboration of the Town Hall.

During the closing ceremony and presentation of diplomas, Sergio Rodríguez and Miriam Perestelo emphasised that this initiative is part of the island government's roadmap aimed at generating new employment opportunities, fixing the population and diversifying economic activity on La Palma.

"The main objective of this training is to improve the students' professional skills, strengthen their personal development and facilitate their access to the labour market in a sector with great potential," they said.

The island president also stressed that the Cabildo is firmly committed to bringing training and the generation of economic activity to the most rural municipalities, such as Barlovento, "because the development of the island must be built on territorial balance and offer real opportunities in all municipalities, wherever they live".

For his part, the mayor of Barlovento thanked the Cabildo and Sodepal for their involvement, stressing that "this type of training not only improves the employability of our neighbours, but also contributes to revitalising the municipality, generating collective self-esteem and demonstrating that the future can also be built in rural areas".

The Cabildo de La Palma and Sodepal continue to respond to the island's professionalisation needs, promoting training in strategic areas for social and economic development, and improving access to employment for people of all ages.

The Personal Image training, specialising in hairdressing, aesthetics, motivation and self-esteem, lasted 12 weeks and has ended with a very positive assessment from both the students and the organisations involved.
