The Cabildo de La Palma La Palma Fashion Week 2024, the most important event in the island's textile and creative sector, will be held from 13 to 16 November at various locations around the island. This event, organised by the Cabildo through Sodepal and within the framework of the Isla Bonita Moda programme, brings together designers, stylists and other professionals from the sector with the aim of promoting and giving visibility to fashion made on La Palma.
The president of the Cabildo de La Palma, Sergio Rodríguez, inaugurated the event highlighting the importance of this event as "it represents the talent, creativity and commitment of every person involved in the textile and creative sector of our island. From the Cabildo de La Palma and the Isla Bonita Moda programme, we are proud to promote this event that not only highlights our fashion, but also honours our values and our identity", said Rodríguez, who also stressed the importance of the event as a tool for preserving the culture and sustainability of the island and detailed that "we are inspired by our nature, that unique beauty that defines La Palma, and we reaffirm our commitment to sustainability, because we want this island to continue to be that place of wonders for future generations".
The Councillor for Economic Promotion and CEO of Sodepal, Miriam Perestelo, highlighted the growth of La Palma Fashion Week over the years and its positive impact on the local economy. She also stated that "this event has been a constant commitment of the Cabildo and Sodepal to provide La Palma with a first class platform where our designers can show their work. This year, in addition, we have had the collaboration of Tenerife Moda, Gran Canaria Moda Cálida, Lanzarote Moda, Proexca, ACME and Adlib Ibiza, which reinforces the national and collaborative nature of the event".
For his part, the director of the Isla Bonita Moda project, Andrés Acosta, highlighted the programme's commitment to emerging talent and the role of La Palma Fashion Week as a space for training and promotion. "We are especially excited to present the Isla Bonita Moda award to the new talent 'Made in La Palma', which recognises the efforts of the students of the Manolo Blahnik Art School, who have been in charge of designing the visual identity of this edition. La Palma Fashion Week is also a platform for education and growth, where these young talents have the opportunity to show their creativity and potential".
