The event, for which registrations are already open, will take place between 12 and 14 September in different parts of the island.
The Cabildo de La Palma is celebrating the 17th edition of the International Hiking and Mountain Festival Isla de La Palma, an already consolidated event that reaffirms its success by bringing the natural, heritage and ethnographic resources of the island's territory closer to both the local population and visitors.
It will take place between 12 and 14 September with a total of six daily routes through different parts of the island, this year with some new features compared to previous editions. Registration for the different activities is now open.
The Councillor for Economic Promotion and CEO of Sodepal, Miriam Perestelo, points out that this event "continues to reap notable success through a formula that combines the passion for hiking and the extraordinary natural spaces that exist on La Palma". In addition, the councillor points out, the planned routes are experiential, as they showcase the island's cultural and gastronomic heritage.
In this sense, Perestelo values the importance of the care and maintenance of these environments, as in this way they are suitable for any type of sporting or recreational practice that can be carried out in them.
For his part, the island's Sports Councillor, Yurguen Hernández, points out that the aim is to increase the attraction of the La Palma Hiking and Mountain Festival, including a new modality that will link several municipalities through the Island Network of Trails, spending the night in each village and enjoying its charms and gastronomy. This route starts in Puntagorda and ends in the Plaza de España in Santa Cruz de La Palma.
