The Cabildo promotes consumption in local shops in the Aridane Valley

The Cabildo de La Palma, through its Department of Economic Promotion and the public company Sodepal, presents the campaign El Tarjetazo Multiply your purchases in the Aridane Valley, an initiative that seeks to encourage consumption in local shops in El Paso, Los Llanos de Aridane and Tazacorte.

The Councillor for Economic Promotion and Commerce of the La Palma Island Council and CEO of Sodepal, Miriam Perestelo, presented the campaign together with municipal representatives of the Aridane Valley and the Director of the La Palma Business Area of CaixaBank, Cristina Daranas.

At the event, the Councillor defended the Cabildo's commitment to continue contributing to the recovery of the western part of the island, especially in relation to the three municipalities that were most affected by the Tajogaite volcano, by developing different initiatives to promote this recovery on a social and economic level.

Miriam Perestelo explained that this campaign seeks to boost the economy and support local commerce with a special promotion of consumer cards, aimed at encouraging consumption in the municipalities of El Paso, Los Llanos and Tazacorte.

"This programme consists of the distribution of vouchers that can be exchanged in the shops participating in the campaign and fulfils a double objective, being, on the one hand, to stimulate commercial activity in our town, especially in a context in which many businesses have faced challenges and, on the other hand, to facilitate families' access to essential goods and services, generating a direct and positive impact on their daily economy", Perestelo explained.

It is an initiative of direct injection of 30,000 euros in local businesses, which aims to generate responsible consumption in the shops of the three localities and to promote the purchase of products from businesses on the street.

What is the campaign about?

The campaign, which will be launched from 25 November, will allow a person to purchase a card worth 30 euros with tickets, up to a maximum of two for a minimum value of 50 euros per consumer, to spend or consume in the shops participating in the initiative. It is effective from the moment it is purchased and can be used until March 2025.

In each municipality, there will be a visible and accessible point for the entire population with a stand where the consumer cards will be handed out, where the necessary data will be checked and taken prior to the delivery of the consumer cards, which can only be consumed in establishments in the Aridane Valley.
