The Cabildo highlights the quality of Palma's gastronomy recognised with Repsol Suns

The president received the heads of El Sitio and Casa Osmunda, which have recently obtained this distinction, and El Duende de Fuego, recognised with a Sustainable Sun.

The Cabildo of La Palma highlights the quality of La Palma's gastronomy and the talent of its restaurant professionals by highlighting the island's establishments that have recently revalidated their Repsol Suns, such as El Sitio, in La Hacienda de Abajo, in Tazacorte, and Casa Osmunda, in Breña Alta. In addition to these, El Duende de Fuego, in Los Llanos de Aridane, has been recognised with a Sustainable Sun.

The island's president, Sergio Rodríguez, received representatives of the three establishments recognised in the latest edition of the Repsol Guide. Sergio Rodríguez highlighted the importance for the island that two of its establishments continue to position themselves nationally thanks to the Sol Repsol, "a recognition that highlights that La Palma has much to offer, also at a gastronomic level, something that is a reflection of the quality of our products and also of the professionalism of those who are part of these restaurants," he remarked.

"To have two Repsol Suns and a Sustainable Sun on our island is a source of pride and a luxury for the people of La Palma, and is the result of the work and commitment of the primary sector of La Palma, but also of professionals who are committed to our products in their kitchens", the president defended.

The president also highlighted the commitment of the Cabildo and the public company Sodepal, through the Saborea La Palma project, of which the three recognised establishments are members, to the gastronomic sector of La Palma and its chefs. "We are working hand in hand with professionals in this field to promote them and continue to position our products, which are a sign of identity and also a powerful tourist attraction," he added.

In the case of El Sitio, the restaurant located in the Hotel Hacienda de Abajo, in Tazacorte, this is the seventh year in a row, while Casa Osmunda has been recognised for the fourth consecutive year.

For its part, El Duende de Fuego has become one of only four establishments in Spain to receive the Sol Sostenible recognition, which seeks to highlight the effort and commitment of establishments to sustainability, in the areas of climate change and product, specifically for sourcing only from the environment.
