The event will take place next Sunday, June 2nd, and will start at 18:00 hours, on the traditional route of the Barrio de La Laguna, in Los Llanos de Aridane.
The Cabildo de La Palma, through the public company Sodepal and the project 'La Palma Ecuestre', is preparing to celebrate this weekend the semi-finals in the modalities of Speed and Distance of the VIII edition of the event.
The event is scheduled for next Sunday, 2nd June, and will start at 18:00 hours, on the traditional route in the La Laguna neighbourhood, in Los Llanos de Aridane. The road will be closed at 17:00 hours, guaranteeing the safety and enjoyment of all those attending.
The president of the Cabildo de La Palma, Sergio Rodríguez, highlights the enthusiasm for this sport on the island and how the La Palma Equestrian programme is allowing the recovery of the traditional horse races on asphalt.
The CEO of Sodepal, Miriam Perestelo, highlighted the importance of this event, both for the local community and for visitors. "La Palma Ecuestre is a celebration of our cultural and sporting identity," she said.
For his part, the Councillor for Sports, Yurguen Hernández, emphasised that this sporting programme is reaching its final stretch of the season with races that are "increasingly exciting", in which the "effective degree of involvement of the project's zootechnical and veterinary protocol" stands out, which translates into an improvement in equestrian sporting practice on the island of La Palma.
In the Speed category, the clashes of the previous rounds saw Nirmali from the Los Socios stable take on Battle of Waterloo from the El Ciclón stable in this semi-final round. The second race will be between Bee in your Bonnet from the Macu stable and Catapum from the Los Chicos stable.
Meanwhile, in the Distance class, Australia Capa from Cuadra Los Chicos will face Beautot from La Esperanza; Hit The Road from Cuadra Los Hermanos will compete against Cavo D'Oro from Cuadra El Malpeis, and finally, Le Professeur from Cuadra La Choza will compete against Aitana CIel from Macaco Team.
