The CEO of Sodepal, Miriam Perestelo, highlights the work being done to continue positioning this event as one of the best for hiking enthusiasts.
The Cabildo de La Palma, through the public company Sodepal, is working to continue bringing the heritage and ethnographic resources of La Palma closer to residents and tourists through the Hiking and Mountain Festival, which this year celebrates its sixteenth edition.
The CEO of Sodepal, Miriam Perestelo, highlights the work that is being done to continue positioning this event, consolidated in the island's calendar as one of the best for hiking lovers who want to combine their passion and enjoy at the same time a World Biosphere Reserve area with one of the best night skies in the world.
The La Palma Hiking and Mountain Festival has a series of guided routes led by professionals that give participants a global and close-up view of the reality of the island.
Along these lines, Perestelo also highlighted the important and extensive network of footpaths on La Palma, which is a privileged place for all kinds of outdoor sports and leisure activities all year round.
"Actions such as this festival are a firm commitment to events that have made the island a differentiated destination within the Canary Islands and recognised nationally and internationally, consolidating it as a location that not only stands out for its climate but also for its landscapes, history, culture and traditions," said the councillor.
