The aim of this convention is to encourage social improvement through people's testimonies about their lives.
The Isla Bonita Love Festival aims to improve the daily life of the LGTBIQ+ community, and therefore carries out different activities for the benefit of these people. On Thursday, 25th July, from 12:00 noon, the V Political and Social Convention for a Fairer and More Equal Society: the reality of diverse families will take place in the Casa de la Cultura in Los Llanos de Aridane.
This initiative will be attended by three diverse families, all of whom live in the Canary Islands, one of them from La Palma. The protagonists will talk about their life experiences, their daily life and the difficulties they have encountered so far.
The CEO of Sodepal, Miriam Perestelo, advocates social respect and the need to develop this type of activity in order to "make public the different disadvantages" that this type of family has to face because they do not have the "traditional role". The aim of this convention is to "confront" the social injustices and inequalities that exist at present, as well as to "seek solutions to these problems", adds the councillor.
The testimonies of the people involved will shed light and make visible the different inequalities and injustices they have had to face, which is a great opportunity for everyone who is interested in attending and helping this type of group.
