Programme:
Tuesday 22 October will visit the area around the Tajogaite Volcano and on Wednesday 23rd, from morning to evening, the Roque de Los Muchachos Observatory and its Visitor Centre.
The following dayAt midday, at an institutional ceremony, a ceremony of recognition and presentation of a replica of the Star that will bear his name will be held in the "Paseo de las Estrellas de la Ciencia" (Walk of the Stars of Science).
On the same day, 24 OctoberIn the afternoon, in the Espacio Cultural de CajaCanarias in Santa Cruz de La Palma, the public event "Encounter with a Star" will take place, with the following programme:
- 18:00 h.: Welcome ceremony.
- 18:15 h.: Talk by Jocelyn Bell Burnell "The discovery of pulsars".
- 19:00 h.: Talk by Garik Israelian, (PhD in Astrophysics and founder of the Starmus Festival) "Walk of the Stars of Science". With simultaneous translation.
Activity framed within the AstroFest, coordinated by SODEPAL and financed by the Tourism Department of the Cabildo de La Palma. With the collaboration of the Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias - IAC, Starmus, the Centro de Visitantes del Roque de Los Muchachos and the Fundación CajaCanarias.
