A new edition, in this case Regional, of the competition called the Fernando Cabrera Astronomy Prize, in memory of the late Fernando Cabrera, winner of the extraordinary prize for his degree and doctorate in astrophysics. He was a student at the UNED, a researcher at the Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias, a founding member of the Agrupación Astronómica Isla de La Palma and an example of self-improvement.
Organised by the Sociedad de Promoción y Desarrollo Económico y Social de la isla de La Palma - SODEPAL and financed by the Tourism Department of the Cabildo Insular de La Palma, with the collaboration of the Agrupación Astronómica Isla de La Palma - AAP, the Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias - IAC and IACTEC, the Universidad Nacional a Distancia - UNED, the Gran Telescopio Canarias - GTC, as representative of the ORM institutions, and the Observatorio del Teide - OT.
