It will run from 24 June to 14 July in three age groups.
The Cabildo de La Palma, through the public company Sodepal, has opened the registration period for the Riachuelo summer camp, which this year celebrates its 34th edition. Those interested can register until 20 June using the form available on the Sodepal website.
The CEO of Sodepal, Miriam Perestelo, highlights the importance of this camp in providing a recreational and educational space for the children of the island while they develop different activities in a natural environment and that, in addition, this promotes family reconciliation during the summer when the students have no classes, but those in charge continue to work.
For his part, the Sports Councillor, Yurguen Hernández, highlights the importance of physical activity in childhood and the values that are transmitted at an early age, generating activities in this action that will be aimed at achieving these objectives.
In this new edition, the camp will be held in its first shift, from 24 to 30 June for those born between 2014 and 2016, the next shift, from 1 to 7 July for those born between 2011 and 2013 and ending in the week of 8 to 14 July for those born between 2007 and 2013.
Programme of activities
As part of the summer camp, two talks will be given on the Caldera de Taburiente National Park and on the prevention and extinction of forest fires.
These will be added to the various activities that will be developed with children participating in the different groups, such as handicrafts and recycling, multi-adventure activities linked to the nature of the environment, aquatic and sports activities, as well as actions aimed at raising awareness among the camp's pupils.
FROM 24 TO 30 JUNE:
8, 9 AND 10 YEARS.
FROM 1 TO 7 JULY:
11, 12 AND 13 YEARS.
FROM 8 TO 14 JULY:
14, 15, 16 AND 17 YEARS OLD.
