The Isla Bonita Moda quality guarantee programme and seal of approval of the Cabildo Insular de La Palma, which promotes the creative and textile sector on the island through Sodepal, is organising a new special Christmas edition of its Shopping Weekend event, which will be held on 19 and 20 December at the Palacio de Salazar, in Santa Cruz de La Palma. The event will be open to the public from 10:00 to 14:00 and from 17:00 to 20:00.
This event will bring together a wide representation of firms belonging to the Isla Bonita Moda programme, which will present their proposals for this season and a wide variety of items ideal for Christmas gifts. Among the participating brands are Atelier El Tesoro, Ban Artesanía en Cuero, Diazar Atelier, Gohemm, Julia Brito, La Sereca, Lepa Punca, Mararte, Maru La Palma, Raquel SanJuán, Rayco Plata, Sara Luis Joyas, Shamelu, Silvia Baly and Xanalue, who will show the public their latest work in the categories of fashion, accessories and contemporary crafts.
For two days, the Palacio de Salazar will become a meeting place for creators and visitors, helping to reinforce the visibility of local talent and boost commercial activity in the heart of the capital.
Miriam Perestelo, the Councillor for Economic Promotion of the La Palma Island Council, underlined the importance of promoting initiatives of this kind, pointing out that "activating the commercialisation of the creative and artisan sector is fundamental for the economic development of the island. Events such as this itinerant Shopping Weekend, now in its fifth edition, allow our designers and artisans to strengthen their presence in the market and allow the public to value the quality and potential of local products".
This edition is in addition to those already held in other municipalities on the island such as Tazacorte and El Paso; the most recent one in Los Llanos de Aridane and the one held in Madrid last May. The Christmas edition of the Shopping Weekend by Isla Bonita Moda is thus consolidated as a unique opportunity to support the design and craftsmanship of the island during one of the most dynamic commercial periods of the year.
