Isla Bonita Moda adds four new firms and consolidates its commitment to craftsmanship and slow fashion

The Isla Bonita Moda programme, promoted by the Cabildo Insular de La Palma through the public company Sodepal, continues to grow and strengthen its commitment to creative talent, sustainability and artisanal production. On this occasion, four new firms have joined the programme: Gohemm, La Sereca, Raúl Vargas Joyería - Filigrana and Xanalue.

The new additions have successfully passed the validation process of the Isla Bonita Moda Guarantee Committee, which assesses key aspects such as coherence with the principles of slow fashion, respect for artisanal processes and innovation in design. Each of these firms brings its own identity, enriching the creative diversity of the programme and reinforcing its positioning as a platform for promoting responsible design with a local soul.

Gohemm, led by Marta González -a native of Santa Cruz de La Palma- and with around forty years of experience in the world of dressmaking providing personalised services to its customers, the firm is embarking on a new stage with the clear goal of evolving and exploring new horizons and experiences.

La Sereca, is a tribute to tradition, the nature of the palm tree environment and creativity that according to its founder, Maira Riverol, seeks to leave a positive footprint in the world of fashion and in the lives of its customers. The firm was founded in 2018 and maintains a vision focused on sustainability, where each design is a declaration of respect for craftsmanship and a clear commitment to responsible exclusivity.

Raúl Vargas Joyería - Filigrana has more than 25 years of experience in the craft and has a special interest in handmade jewellery, adorned with natural stones. In addition, the firm rescues the value of filigree work, a craft technique used since ancient times and that today is available to its customers through pieces made entirely in its workshop.

Xanalue is for its creator Silvia Abrante - a craftswoman and designer with more than 20 years of experience - a refuge where craftsmanship meets magic, where each stitch is a furrow of the past and an echo of nature. Her projects fuse techniques ranging from crochet and frivolité lace, Canarian rosette, leatherwork and fabric painting.

The Councillor for Economic Promotion of the La Palma Island Council, Miriam Perestelo, has celebrated this incorporation, pointing out that "the entry of these new firms into the Isla Bonita Moda ecosystem reaffirms the programme's capacity to continue generating real opportunities in the island's creative sector. Each new brand that joins represents another step towards a more diversified, sustainable economy based on local talent. We are proud of the growth of this project and how it has become a regional and even national benchmark for fashion with identity and commitment".
