The CEO of Sodepal, Miriam Perestelo, highlights the work being carried out in the Development Company to ensure that all the projects under its responsibility are executed in accordance with the roadmap and the main objectives of the island's government team.
The Sociedad de Promoción y Desarrollo Económico y Social de la Isla de La Palma (Sodepal), dependent on the Cabildo Insular, continues to consolidate the efficiency of its management, maintaining its outstanding performance in transparency, according to the data published by the Transparency Commissioner of the Canary Islands for the period between the second half of 2023 and 2024.
The Councillor for Economic Promotion and Trade of the Cabildo and CEO of Sodepal, Miriam Perestelo, stressed that this result reflects the government team's commitment to modern, efficient and citizen-friendly public management:
"We are aware that for a long time the image that the public had of this public company was not what it should be. Today, Sodepal has established itself as a key tool to support and promote entrepreneurship on the island, accompanying professionals and companies, and boosting the social, economic and commercial fabric of La Palma through projects linked to relevant sectors such as energy, digital transformation, tourism, sport, crafts, fashion, gastronomy and cultural diversity," the councillor said.
According to the data published by the Transparency Commissioner's portal, the public company Sodepal continues to maintain the highest score in transparency, "which endorses the work being done in all the projects that the entity has underway, complying with the roadmap and the objectives that we have set ourselves from the island government team, such as optimising the available resources and bringing the Administration closer to the society of La Palma", Miriam Perestelo emphasises.
Sodepal's main objective is to promote, foster and develop the strategic economic activities of La Palma and to support local companies.
