La Palma promotes its products at Feaga and the Salón Gourmets in Madrid

The Cabildo, through Sodepal, is leading the presence of Palmeros producers at two strategic events for the primary sector.

La Palma reinforces its commitment to the excellence of local produce with its participation in two of the most important events on the national agri-food calendar: the Fuerteventura Agricultural, Livestock and Fishing Fair (Feaga) and the Salón Gourmets in Madrid. Both events, promoted by the Cabildo de La Palma through the public company Sodepal as part of the Saborea La Palma 2025 programme, are a key opportunity to raise the profile, position and market the island's agri-food production.

The Councillor for Economic Promotion and CEO of Sodepal, Miriam Perestelo, stresses that these are strategic actions that "allow the island's primary sector professionals to showcase the quality of their products, open new marketing channels and strengthen their position in the market".

For his part, the Regional Minister for Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries, Food Sovereignty and Animal Welfare, Alberto Paz, stresses that both fairs "are essential platforms but with different approaches: at FEAGA we are committed to an institutional stand aimed at the end public, while the Salón Gourmets is aimed exclusively at professionals in the sector, where real possibilities are opened up to close distribution agreements at national and international level".

The first stop will be Feaga, which will be held from 3 to 6 April at the Pozo Negro Experimental Farm in Fuerteventura. La Palma will have a large institutional stand that will include a tourist display, a craft display, the traditional live production of cigars from La Palma and a careful selection of gastronomic products from the island, such as cheeses, mojos, wines and confectionery.

The Councillor for Tourism, Raquel Rebollo, highlights the promotional aspect of the event: "Feaga attracts thousands of visitors, including tourists on holiday in Fuerteventura. That's why we have incorporated a specific Tourism stand, with the aim of promoting the attractions of La Palma and encouraging the use of the direct flight between the two islands this summer".

The second event will be the Salón Gourmets, from 7 to 10 April at IFEMA Madrid, the largest national showcase for high-end food and beverages. A large delegation of companies will represent the island: Ron Aldea, Mi Dulce Pastel, Vinos Mergus, Vega Norte, Bruco La Palma and the mojos Regina and Sicilia, making it the island's largest participation in this fair to date.

In addition to the exhibition area, Salón Gourmets offers the Business Center, an exclusive space where national and international distributors hold previously scheduled meetings with producers. The Palmera representation already has closed appointments, which anticipates a high commercial projection for the participating brands.

"The quality, authenticity and know-how of La Palma's agri-food sector have a lot to contribute to these forums," concludes Miriam Perestelo. "From the Cabildo we will continue working to open up new business opportunities and promote La Palma as an island with unique and benchmark products".
