Palm Island fashion brands dazzle at Madrid Fashion Week

The fashion show took place in the Auditorium of the Serrería Belga in Madrid.

The Cabildo of La Palma celebrates the success of the joint participation of Canary Island brands in the "Canarias Islas de Moda" fashion show, held as part of the Madrid Fashion Week. This outstanding platform of national and international projection hosted the presentation of 24 brands from the archipelago, including several firms from La Palma that represented the Isla Bonita Moda programme, highlighting their creativity and commitment to sustainability. The participation was organised by Proexca, in collaboration with the island councils of La Palma, Tenerife, Gran Canaria and Lanzarote.

The firms that participated on behalf of Isla Bonita Moda were Diazar, Pedro Juan, Ban, Lepa Punca, Maru La Palma, Alex Menorca, Sara Luis Joyas, Atelier El Tesoro, Waleska Morin and Julia Brito Tocados y Complementos, who presented their collections to a specialised public, positioning fashion on the island as a benchmark for quality, innovation and sustainability.

The CEO of Sodepal, Miriam Perestelo, valued the presence of these brands in such a prestigious event and detailed that "it is an honour for La Palma to see how our firms have the opportunity to showcase their talent and effort on such an important stage as the Madrid Fashion Week. From the Cabildo, through Sodepal and Isla Bonita Moda, we reaffirm our commitment to the promotion of the textile industry of La Palma, which is characterised by its artisanal production and sustainable approach".

The fashion show, which took place at the Auditorio de la Serrería Belga in Madrid, is part of the Strategic Plan for the Fashion Sector, promoted by the Government of the Canary Islands and supported by the programmes Gran Canaria Moda Cálida, Tenerife Moda, Isla Bonita Moda and Lanzarote Moda. The aim of this joint strategy is the national and international projection of Canarian brands, strengthening their positioning and promoting foreign marketing.

Miriam Perestelo stressed the importance of this type of inter-institutional collaboration as "thanks to the joint efforts of the councils and Proexca, our companies can access new markets and establish synergies that benefit their development and expansion. Palmera fashion, represented by our firms in Isla Bonita Moda, is a clear example of how sustainability and craftsmanship can generate competitive added value at an international level".

After the fashion show, a tasting of typical Canarian products was offered, which provided a networking space for designers and entrepreneurs in the sector, creating opportunities for collaboration and exploring new avenues for growth on a national and international level.

The Cabildo of La Palma will continue to support the promotion of initiatives that contribute to economic diversification and the development of strategic sectors such as fashion, consolidating the island as a benchmark in innovation and sustainability within the textile industry.
