The island's president, Sergio Rodríguez, emphasised how proud the Cabildo and La Palma are to have professionals who can develop their work in the fashion sector and carry the name of the island wherever they go.
The second edition of the Isla Bonita Fashion Talent Awards Made In La Palma, promoted by the Cabildo de La Palma and the public company through the Isla Bonita Project, has recognised professionals of the sector in a gala where the talent of local creatives has been highlighted.
The island's president, Sergio Rodríguez, stressed how proud the Cabildo and La Palma are to have young professionals who are dedicated to the world of fashion and who carry the name of the island with them wherever they go, "something that is highlighted and which we want to recognise with this second edition of the awards, and which also comes about thanks to those who came before us, to whom we also wanted to pay tribute, in this case through the honorary award to Pedro Fierro".
The Councillor for Economic Promotion and Trade and CEO of Sodepal, Miriam Perestelo, highlighted the work developed through the Isla Bonita Moda project to support, promote and enhance the talent, work and profession of the creative people of La Palma, "who are the proof that they can develop their activity from their island and make themselves known abroad".
In this second edition of the awards, prizes were awarded in eight categories: eight main categories: fashion brand, photography and catwalk model, make-up professionals, hairdressing professionals, fashion photography and audiovisual creation, content creators and sustainable fashion project. This was joined by the honorary prize, which was awarded to Pedro Ferreiro Rodríguez, better known as "Pedro Orley".
The people who made up the jury that decided the winners in each of the categories were the members of the Isla Bonita Moda Guarantee Committee, Jose Toledo, model and TV presenter and host of the gala; the actress and founder of Matiz, Marta Ortiz; Daniela Gutiérrez, creative director, fashion director of NEO2 and founder of Barokah Jewels and Barokah Gang; the director of the Manolo Blahnik Art School, Mónica Reverón, and the teacher of the same centre, Verania Sánchez.
The prizes awarded in the different categories were as follows:
- Fashion Brand: Adrienne.
- Model: Nazareth Batista.
- Make-up: Lucía Martín.
- Hairdressing: Ithaisa López.
- Photography and audiovisual creation: Robert Nazco / MediaRook.
- Content creator: Paola Barreto.
- New Talents: Raquel SanJuan.
- Sustainable Fashion Project: Ángel Cabrera.
