The Cabildo raffles off 10,000 euros in 200 consumer vouchers for shopping until 31 January in the island's shops.

The public company Sodepal launches "Happy November", a campaign to promote commercial activity on La Palma.

The Cabildo de La Palma, through the public company Sodepal and with the collaboration of the business federations and associations, will launch from tomorrow, Wednesday 15th November, the "Happy November" campaign, which aims to promote shopping in local shops during the Christmas campaign and until 31st January 2024.

The Councillor for Economic Promotion and CEO of Sodepal, Miriam Perestelo; the Councillor for Trade, Fernando González; the President of Fedepalma, David Fuentes; and the Vice-President of FAEP, Eloy Méndez, presented this campaign today, in an event attended by representatives of different traders' associations.

This action consists of a draw for 10,000 euros to be distributed in 200 consumer cards of 50 euros each, which can be used exclusively in local shops between 11 December and 31 January.

Participation is open to all residents of La Palma who have made their purchases between 15 November and 10 December. To enter the draw, those interested must register their personal details and purchase receipts on the registration form available on the Sodepal website (www.sodepal.es).

 

Miriam Perestelo and Fernando González stressed that "we are aware of the importance of the commercial sector on our island, with a notable impact both in terms of job creation and the services it offers our citizens". A business fabric made up of small and medium-sized companies "that are still making an extraordinary effort today to recover from the effects of the pandemic and then the volcano".

The councillor emphasised that "the Cabildo has launched different actions to encourage local consumption and support the island's shops, from direct aid to different promotional campaigns and the recent Business and Trade Fair held in San Andrés y Sauces". In this sense, "we present "Happy November", which allows us to reinforce our commitment to our establishments in the middle of the Christmas campaign".

Miriam Perestelo thanked the federations and associations for their collaboration, as "institutions and entrepreneurs have to work together to make our commerce more competitive every day". In this sense, Fernando González announced that the Department of Commerce will implement other measures "to encourage shopping in the establishments of La Palma".

For their part, the representatives of the business federations, David Fuentes and Eloy Méndez, thanked the Cabildo of La Palma for launching this campaign, and agreed on the importance of "buying from local businesses", which in the end are the ones that generate economy and jobs on the island itself.
