Sodepal will have 7 million euros to promote various large-scale projects on the island.

The island's president, Sergio Rodríguez, defends the consolidation of key events for the island, as well as the commitment to projects that position La Palma at an international level.

The Board of Directors of Sodepal has approved the draft budget of the public company of the Cabildo de La Palma for the next fiscal year, a document that has more than 7 million euros earmarked to promote various major initiatives for the island.

The president of the island's Cabildo, Sergio Rodríguez, argues that these events consolidate several initiatives that have been having a positive impact on society and the island's economy for years, both directly and indirectly, while also attracting people from abroad for different events, such as Transvulcania or its cycling counterpart, or the Isla Bonita Love Festival, as well as incorporating new projects that the Government Group is committed to making a place for themselves in the island's annual calendar, such as the recent Benahoare League or the La Palma Blue Experience, among others.

In this sense, the president explained that the island's commitment to the island's talent will continue, through the Isla Bonita Moda label, as well as other already consolidated events, such as La Palma Ecuestre, and the important work of the La Palma Film Commission and the Saborea La Palma brand to promote the island and its attractions, in its different areas of activity, abroad.

Miriam Perestelo, the Councillor for Economic Promotion of the Cabildo and CEO of Sodepal, highlights the coordinated work between the public company and other areas of the Cabildo to continue developing strategic projects to position the island in different aspects, such as astro-tourism, fashion, sport, music and the audiovisual sector, among others. "From Sodepal we work continuously hand in hand with the different areas of the Institution to continue improving the lives of the people of the island while at the same time strengthening the image of La Palma abroad to make known all its attractions in terms of gastronomy, culture, sport and consolidate it as a place that can host international sporting events or bring renowned international artists, as we have already done", he emphasises.

Sergio Rodríguez stresses that Sodepal has become a transforming engine of the island and an important instrument to work on part of the economic recovery of the island, allowing through the various tasks and projects to promote the generation of resources that have an impact on the recovery.

In this line, the work carried out by the public company has been growing in recent years, both to include more initiatives to boost the local economy, as well as in the management of resources that enable advice and support to companies and self-employed Palmeros.

In this way, from projects linked to the primary sector, crafts, sustainability, cinema, gastronomy or tourism, to the most international ones such as the Isla Bonita Love Festival, Transvulcania or Fashion Week, or those that will allow a total transformation of La Palma, such as geothermal energy, Sodepal is leading the process of the island's recovery.
