Both actions will take place on 23, 24 and 25 February, with a stand and meetings with tour operators to promote the destination.
The Department of Tourism of the Cabildo of La Palma, with the support of the public company Sodepal, will promote the island's attractions in terms of hiking, cycle tourism and gastronomy at two trade fairs that will be held on 23, 24 and 25 February in Pamplona and Utrecht (Holland).
Fiets en Wandelbeurs is aimed at the end consumer interested in active tourism, hiking and cycle tourism and is characterised as a trade fair with a very expert public interested in these segments. It is the most notable fair in its sector in the Netherlands, attracting around 27,000 visitors over three days in 2023.
The Navartur fair also fits in with what La Palma offers as a tourist destination, as it is visited by a public especially from Navarre and the Basque Country with high and medium purchasing power, interested in outdoor activities and gastronomy.
Saborea La Palma will be present at this promotional event in Pamplona, as well as the Regional Ministry of Tourism, with its own stand where it will showcase both the island's gastronomy and its leading products.
The island's Councillor for Tourism, Raquel Rebollo, and the head of Economic Promotion and CEO of Sodepal, Miriam Perestelo, agreed on "the need to join forces" so that the promotion of La Palma abroad "is more effective, achieving the objectives set to consolidate our island in segments in which we must be a reference at an international level".
Rebollo reported that at both fairs "the promotional work" carried out at the La Palma exhibitors "is just as important as the meetings with professionals in the sector" planned for both Pamplona and Utrecht. In this way, "we are focusing both on the end public and on the tour operators, who are the ones who put together and programme tourist packages".
