The Cabildo's Bono Bonito returns this Christmas, generating an investment of 700,000 euros in the island's commercial fabric.

Those who buy in the local shops of La Palma will have vouchers worth 10 euros, which will be complemented by another 10 euros from each individual.

The Cabildo de La Palma, through its Department of Economic Promotion and Commerce, directed by Miriam Perestelo, is promoting a new edition of the Bono Bonito, special for Christmas 2024, which will allow a total of 700,000 euros to be invested in the economic and commercial fabric of the island. This action has the collaboration of the Federation of Urban Areas of the Canary Islands (FAUCA).

The island's president, Sergio Rodríguez, stresses that the institution's objective is to reinforce the work being done to encourage consumption in local commerce and to continue supporting the establishments closest to the island's citizens.

To this end, the Cabildo de La Palma will implement vouchers for the amount of 350,000 euros, which will double the investment to 700,000 euros with the contribution made by each user.

Each consumer will be able to buy up to a maximum of 10 vouchers per National Identity Document. The price of each voucher will be 10 euros, with an additional contribution of 10 euros from the Cabildo, so the total value of the voucher will be 20 euros.

Establishments wishing to take part in this campaign can now join the campaign on the bonobonito.com website.

Miriam Perestelo emphasised that this campaign not only seeks to promote the Christmas spirit that characterises this time of year, but also to strengthen the commercial fabric and support small and medium-sized businesses, "which are the heart of our local economy", she explained.

This campaign is in addition to the one already launched in the past, 'Gifts with history', linked to trade during the Christmas season, as well as the Tarjetazo initiative, aimed at injecting 30,000 euros in consumer vouchers and aimed at the Valle de Aridane area, taking into account its economic situation and differentiated, at this time and for obvious reasons, from the rest of the island's territory.

On the 5th of December, Santa Cruz de La Palma celebrated Shopping Day, a unique opportunity to showcase the products and services offered by local businesses, a unique day with different activities, promotions and surprises.

Similarly, in 2024, the Cabildo de La Palma has made a series of financial contributions to organisations such as trade associations, federations, the Chamber of Commerce and town councils where there are no commercial organisations, with the aim of generating different actions to boost local trade, especially during the Christmas campaigns when there is an increase in shopping.

In short, Sergio Rodríguez stresses, these are initiatives that seek to strengthen the commercial fabric of La Palma, supported by the business federations and associations, and which also offer great advantages to continue shopping locally.
