Transvulcania Bike consolidates its position as a benchmark event in mountain biking and launches a new stage format in its new edition.

The race, which will take place from 14th to 16th November, incorporates two other key races in La Palma, such as the Bike El Paso and La Tea MTB, in Tijarafe.

The Cabildo de La Palma and the public company Sodepal are launching the new edition of Transvulcania Bike, a race that has consolidated its position as a benchmark for mountain biking on the island and regional calendar and which this year, 2025, will have a new stage format that will take place over three intense days, offering routes adapted to all levels.

The Councillor for Economic Promotion and CEO of Sodepal, Miriam Perestelo, has announced the new features of the event, which will take place from 14th to 16th November in the municipalities of El Paso, Tijarafe and Fuencaliente, together with the Mayor of El Paso, Eloy Martín, the Councillor for Sports of Tijarafe, Samuel Pérez, and the cyclist from La Palma and part of the organisation, Pedro Rodríguez.

The presentation was also attended by elite riders, such as Anton Sintov, Russian cyclist who has participated in the Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2021 Olympics; Pablo Rodríguez, Spanish XCM 2025 champion, and Ismael Ventura, Spanish XCM 2017 champion, as well as the Spanish XCM 2024 champion, Tessa Kortekaas.

Miriam Perestelo highlighted the collaboration especially of the organisations of the Bike El Paso and La Tea MTB de Tijarafe events, as well as the town councils of these two municipalities and Fuencaliente for their involvement and commitment to work hand in hand with the Cabildo, through the Department of Sports and the public company Sodepal, to make this union possible under the same brand, Transvulcania Bike, to offer an event that combines sport, nature and active tourism in a truly incomparable environment such as the island of La Palma.

The Councillor highlighted that in this edition, the event has more than 300 people registered in the different modalities, of which 90% are from the Canary Islands and 10% from other Spanish autonomous communities, as well as from other countries, such as Germany, France or Italy, which reinforces the positioning of this event at a national and international level year after year.

"This shows that Transvulcania Bike is already a tourist and sporting attraction of international projection, which contributes directly to boosting the local economy and to continue positioning La Palma as a destination for nature, sport and healthy living", added Miriam Perestelo.

The mayor of El Paso, Eloy Martín, highlighted the incorporation of Bike El Paso to this benchmark event on the island and stressed the importance of collaboration between public administrations and private sponsors to enhance the value of this type of competition, which helps to position La Palma and the municipalities that form part of the route in the regional, national and international sporting world.

For his part, the councillor of Tijarafe, Samuel Pérez, highlighted the new format that has been given to Transvulcania Bike in this new edition, which incorporates La Tea MTB, a competition that has grown in recent years, and that will allow those who participate in this stage to enjoy the beauty of the route.
