We celebrate La Palma Fashion Week during the month of April with a firm commitment to sustainability and internationalisation

The new edition of the biennial La Palma Fashion Week will take place from the 14th to the 16th of April.

The public company Sodepal, through the Isla Bonita Moda (IBM) programme financed by the Island Council for Economic Promotion, will be holding La Palma Fashion Week during the month of April, with a firm commitment to sustainability and internationalisation.

The Councillor for Economic Promotion, Raquel Díaz, emphasised that "this new edition of La Palma Fashion Week will have new features such as a change of location, an alliance with international media and the support of the most important specialised media in the sector at a national level". All of this with the aim of continuing "to take steps towards a greater projection and professionalisation of the creative and textile sector on our island".

Díaz explained that during the previous edition "we demonstrated that the previous work carried out to establish a specific roadmap with defined objectives can lead to the creations of our designers appearing in the most relevant media, as well as positioning our island in the national context".

The councillor emphasised that "we will maintain the development of the La Palma Fashion Talent awards, in which three firms specialising in the jewellery and accessories sector and three other brands specialising in ready-to-wear will participate, and which aim to support emerging talent".

Sustainability will continue to play a fundamental role in the event, where 90 % of the participating firms are expected to create their collections using ecologically certified materials, as well as techniques such as upcycling, contributing to the generation of less waste and the dissemination of a more environmentally friendly message.
