Sodepal revives the Slow Market event for the promotion and marketing of the Island's handicrafts

The Cabildo de La Palma, through the public company Sodepal and the Arts and Crafts Department, is bringing back the Slow Market event for the promotion and commercialisation of artisan products created on the island among the local population.

This action will take place next Saturday, 2nd December, from 6 p.m. onwards, in the Sala Centro located at number 11 Calle Real in Santa Cruz de La Palma, coinciding with the celebration of the Night of the Stars in the capital.

The CEO of Sodepal, Miriam Perestelo, and the Councillor for Crafts, Pablo Cobiella, agreed that "we have decided to recover an event that has not been held since 2019 due to the pandemic, and that we understand that it is very important to convey to the citizens the activity carried out by our artisans, those who with their own hands are capable of creating authentic works of art".

Companies and artisans from the island will take part in the Slow Market, as well as exclusive products from La Palma Artesanía. They will also be joined by creative products from the Isla Bonita Moda (IBM) programme, in a clear commitment to diversification and quality.

Perestelo and Cobiella announced that during the Slow Market, from 20:00 hours, the presentation of the 'Aborigen' collection will take place, belonging to La Palma Artesanía, which shows "the talent and hard work" of artisans "who have been able to preserve a legacy full of authenticity".

This event is open to the tasting of wines and cheeses from La Palma, as well as live music by the saxophonist Malau.
