Isla Bonita Moda joins the Asociación de Creadores de Moda de España (Association of Fashion Designers of Spain)

The programme, aimed at developing and promoting the textile and creative fashion sector on the Canary Island of La Palma, joins ACME as part of its strategic expansion and consolidation plan.

Both will work together to promote actions to strengthen the identity, quality and success of the project.

The Spanish Association of Fashion Designers (ACME) confirms today the incorporation of Isla Bonita Moda as a collaborating institution. ACME and Isla Bonita Moda will join forces to strengthen and enrich their structures.

Isla Bonita Fashion is a programme of the Department of Economic Promotion of the Island Council of La Palma, managed through the Society for Economic and Social Promotion and Development of La Palma (SODEPAL SAU) and created to promote the development of the textile and creative fashion sector on La Palma, an island with a historical tradition of silk, linen and embroidery craftsmanship, among other disciplines.

The aim of Isla Bonita Moda is to promote the fashion industry on La Palma by setting up an Island Fashion Plan focused on the promotion, training, professionalisation and support of creators, giving value to their craftwork applied to the avant-garde and ensuring the commercialisation of their collections.

Immersed in the execution of a 360º strategic plan to consolidate the identity, quality and success of the project, one of its priority objectives is to forge a large fashion community, made up of professionals from different fields, to ensure that the sector has a rich business fabric with great possibilities for expansion on the island of La Palma.

Committed to excellence, sustainability, the preservation of craftsmanship, the promotion of local talent and innovation, today Isla Bonita Moda joins the firms integrated in ACME, with whom it shares values and goals.

"Motivated by a shared desire to boost the development and promotion of fashion in Spain, as well as to establish synergies and significant connections with great professionals in the sector, we are convinced that being part of ACME is a fundamental step in our strategic expansion and consolidation plan. The joint representation of all our firms through the Isla Bonita Moda label as a collaborating entity today offers us all great opportunities that will bring us great results in the future," says Miriam Perestelo, CEO of SODEPAL.

For Pepa Bueno, executive director of ACME, "Isla Bonita Moda is one of the most exciting institutional projects supporting the sector and with the best prospects for growth. And to this development we can contribute decisively from ACME with our expertise. The firms that form part of the programme have enormous potential, as they share the values of slow fashion, have strong local roots and work with the crafts and artisans of the island when designing their creations".

Isla Bonita Moda is the second collaborating institution to join ACME, following the entry of Gran Canaria Moda Cálida in 2018.
