The Cabildo puts the finishing touches to preparations for the 35th Island Crafts Fair

The event will take place this year in San Andrés y Sauces and can be visited from Wednesday 14th August until Sunday 18th August.

The Cabildo de La Palma is finalising preparations for the XXXI Island Crafts Fair, which this year will be held in the car parks near the Sports Pavilion of San Andrés y Sauces, and which will be inaugurated this Wednesday, 14th August, at 17:00 hours.

The event, which will bring together 119 artisans and 19 artisans specialising in food, can be visited until Sunday, 18 August, between 11:00 and 21:00.

The Island Councillor for Crafts, Pablo Díaz Cobiella, and the CEO of Sodepal, Miriam Perestelo, highlight the work carried out by the staff of the Island Corporation, the public company, as well as the City Council itself and craft professionals to ensure that everything is ready for the opening of the new edition.

This year, traditional crafts will be the protagonists of the island event, which has an extensive programme of activities, such as a children's competition of ideas about the crafts of La Palma, which will allow youngsters to become aware of the importance of preserving crafts and to get closer to ancestral trades.

Shuttle service

In order to facilitate the transport of visitors to the fair during the four days of the event, the Regional Ministry of Crafts and the public company Sodepal will provide a free shuttle bus service within the municipality of San Andrés y Sauces.

The pick-up points will be from Las Lomadas, at the Marcos y Cordero rise and at the Bajamar crossroads, from 17:00 to 21:00 on Wednesday, 14th August, and from 11:00 to 21:00, from 15th to 18th August.
